3000. Done.

Yup.

3000 miles for the year clicked by today.  Embarrassingly the 2000 mile mark clicked by mid June. The slow progress has been put down to beer, the commuting to Newbury, and a hot hot Summer, the likes we havent seen for a very long time. Some would argue - ever.

Anyhoo, today I had a play in the Alps of Hampshire (Conholt, Linkenholt, Faccombe and Ashmansworth) and the magical 3000 miles for the year ticked by.. 3010 miles to be exact.

Statistically I'm averaging over 300 miles a month. Minuscule really, but I haven't ridden a whole year for a very very long time! In all honesty, I've probably never!  A stop for a few weeks / months come July or August has usually been the norm.  This year - I will go 12 months!

Year stats - 132 rides. 187 hours on the bike. Averaging 71 miles per week.

I've not done many 'challenges' this year, had hoped to lose a bit more weight before hitting Wales, or 'Ventouxing', it will happen, but probably next Summer now.

So what's left?  Crack the 4000 miles for the year, maybe 4500?  I start proper shifts soon, so will have more time to get out on week days.

The new job is going well, even at 5:15 a.m it's been nice to walk to work.. A bit of rain might change my view on that, but no complaints so far.

Today I wore leg warmers and my old VC. Venta top.  Why mention that? Well, that particular top is one from 1995 or so. 23 years old!!   And older than most of the people I now work with. Have I made a mistake? I don't think so - I'm finding my way in the leisure industry and with the all new Leisure Centre opening in 6 months, there may be further career development opportunities arising.

That said, I am actually happy where I am now.
I don't feel 46 years old, I'm young at heart..  unless I'm hungover or aching as I get out of bed.
I took this job to keep me young, enjoy my hobbies and get fit in this #yearofchange

onwards and upwards.
